Whiteout Isopods for Sale (Porcellionides pruinosus)
Whiteout Isopods are a stunning color morph of Porcellionides pruinosus, prized for their bright white coloration and constant activity. Their clean appearance creates a beautiful contrast against dark substrate, leaf litter, moss, and cork bark, making them an eye-catching addition to any bioactive enclosure. If you’re looking for an active, hardy, and beginner-friendly isopod that stands out, Whiteout Isopods are an excellent choice.
Like other Porcellionides pruinosus morphs, Whiteouts are fast moving, fast breeding, and always busy exploring their enclosure. Their healthy appetite and rapid reproduction make them one of the most dependable clean-up crews available, while their striking white coloration makes them just as enjoyable to observe as they are beneficial.
Origin: Native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean region, Whiteout Isopods are a color morph of Porcellionides pruinosus. Their hardiness, adaptability, and constant activity have made this species one of the most popular choices for bioactive keepers around the world.
Habitat: This hardy species thrives in enclosures with moderate humidity (around 50%), temperatures between 70-78°F, and 2-3 inches of quality substrate. Be sure to provide a hydration station with moist sphagnum moss, along with plenty of leaf litter, cork bark, and decaying hardwood.
Whiteout Isopods adapt well to a wide variety of bioactive enclosures, from semi-arid setups to tropical environments, making them a popular choice for snakes, leopard geckos, crested geckos, and many other reptiles.
Diet: Their primary diet should consist of plenty of decaying leaf litter, rotting hardwood, and a quality calcium source. Supplement their diet with quality isopod food, organic vegetables, fruits, and protein offered in moderation.
Reproduction: Fast, Highly Prolific (Typical brood size: 20-30).
Perfect For: Beginner keepers, bioactive enclosures, reptile keepers, feeder colonies, classrooms, families, and anyone looking for an active, easy-to-keep isopod with striking white coloration.
