This is the same substrate blend every one of our isopod enclosures lives in. Our blend is carefully crafted with a combination of peat moss, calcium, carbon, sphagnum moss, worm castings, bat guano, and aged forest products, and it has been successfully used in all of our isopod enclosures.
For isopods, substrate isn't just something to walk on. It holds moisture, supports the little ecosystem in your bin, and becomes part of their food supply. So don't settle for subpar dirt; give your pods a home they'll actually want to eat.
Our blend consists of: Peat moss, calcium, carbon, sphagnum moss, worm castings, bat guano, aged forest products.
To use, simply add a hydration station, such as wet sphagnum moss, and some leaf litter to this substrate mix. It's ready to go and will give your isopods a great environment to thrive in.
