Rubber Ducky Isopods for Sale (Cubaris sp.)
Rubber Ducky Isopods are one of the most iconic and sought-after isopods in the hobby. Famous for their adorable little faces that resemble tiny rubber ducks, it’s easy to see why they’ve become a favorite among collectors and first-time hobbyists alike. If you’re looking for a unique, quiet, and cute pet that’s as fascinating as it is unforgettable, Rubber Duckies are an excellent choice.
While they make a fantastic addition to tropical bioactive enclosures, many keepers enjoy Rubber Duckies simply as display pets. Their charming appearance, curious behavior, and occasional explorations above the leaf litter make every sighting exciting. They’re one of those species that always seems to bring a smile to people’s faces.
Origin: Rubber Ducky Isopods are a tropical Cubaris species native to Thailand. They thrive in warm, humid environments and are prized around the world for their unmistakable appearance and gentle nature.
Habitat: Rubber Ducky Isopods thrive in a tropical enclosure with high humidity (75-90%), excellent ventilation, temperatures between 72-80°F, and 3-4 inches of quality substrate. Provide plenty of cork bark, decaying hardwood, leaf litter, sphagnum moss, and other hiding places to help them feel secure.
Diet: Their primary diet should consist of decaying leaf litter and rotting hardwood. They also benefit from a quality calcium source, such as limestone, along with supplemental foods including quality isopod diets, vegetables, fruits, and protein offered in moderation.
Reproduction: Slow to Moderate.
Perfect For: Intermediate keepers, collectors, tropical bioactive enclosures, display terrariums, families, classrooms, and anyone looking for a unique, adorable, and unforgettable pet.
