Powder Oranges are fast moving, fast breeding and always on the go, which makes them one of the easiest and most rewarding species to keep. Their bright orange color pops against natural substrate, and their big appetites make them one of the best clean-up crews around. Plenty of keepers also use them as a sustainable feeder colony.

Origin: Native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean region, Powder Oranges are a color morph of Porcellionides pruinosus.

HPI Preferred Habitat Targets: 70–80°F; supporting relative humidity around 60–75%; maintain a clear moisture gradient with roughly one-third to one-half of the substrate moist and the remainder progressively drier, plus good ventilation. Provide a moist sphagnum or hydration retreat and avoid keeping the entire enclosure saturated. Recommended substrate depth 2-3".

Diet: Their primary diet should consist of plenty of decaying leaf litter, rotting hardwood, and a quality calcium source. Supplement with quality isopod food, organic vegetables, fruits, and protein offered in moderation.

Reproduction: Fast, Highly Prolific (Typical brood size: 20-30).
