These mid-sized inverts feature a soft pinkish-brown color, sometimes sporting white skirting with their cute faces. These terrestrial crustaceans do the dirty work, cleaning up animal waste and decaying plant matter in your reptile enclosure or vivarium. They may be slow to start, but once they're happy, watch out.
Origin: A color morph of Cubaris murina, a widespread tropical species found in warm regions around the world. Timid species (like many Cubaris).
HPI Preferred Habitat Targets: 72–78°F; supporting relative humidity around 70–85%; keep roughly two-thirds of the substrate consistently moist with a smaller, less-wet zone and steady ventilation. Moist substrate should remain damp rather than saturated; avoid stale air and excessive heat. Recommended substrate depth 2-3".
Diet: As with most isopod species, their main diet should be lots of leaf litter, decaying wood and a calcium supply. Supplement with organic fresh veggies & protein.
Reproduction: Papayas may be slow to start, but if their habitat conditions are right, they are very prolific breeders.

Many isopod distributors offer starter cultures of specific counts (5, 6, 8, 10 counts, etc.). We have found that some clients want 1 isopod while others prefer 20+. We have made the decision to sell isopods on a per price basis to assist with your custom-built starter cultures.

FREE SHIPPING
- Orders of $99+ are eligible for complimentary shipping.
- The shipping service will be determined by Holy-Poly Isopods (regardless of shipping selection).
SHIPPING LIVE ANIMALS
- As a USDA APHIS Permitted shipping facility, we use our current PPQ-526 permits to ship within the Continental U.S.
- When sending 'Live Animals' we may delay your shipment due to Holiday schedules, weather conditions at your location or ours, or other.
- We provide Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG) Shipping through our strategic shipping partners and policies.
- Review and understand our LAG Policy for safe delivery.
- You are responsible for ensuring their safe indoor delivery promptly or arranging a Hold for Pickup with our Shipping Partner (picking up same day).
