Nasatum Isopods for Sale (Armadillidium nasatum)
Meet the nosy pill woodlouse. (That's its actual common name. We didn't make it up.)
A. nasatum is a European species that has been introduced to North America. These armor-looking pods feature grey and black patterns, and they love hiding under rocks, wood, and anything else they can get their little noses under.
Origin: Europe; introduced to North America.
HPI Preferred Habitat Targets: 66–77°F; supporting relative humidity around 50–70%; keep about one-third of the substrate moist at depth and allow the remainder to become progressively drier toward the main vents. Maintain good airflow and a dependable moist retreat; avoid a sealed, uniformly wet enclosure.
Diet: As with most isopod species, their main diet should be lots of leaf litter and decaying wood.
Reproduction: Establish moderately quickly.
Perfect For: Beginner keepers and drier bioactive setups that still provide a dedicated moist hydration zone.
Ordering: Priced per isopod, with a minimum of 3 per species. Starting a new colony? We recommend 6–20 (see How Many Isopods Should I Get?). Bulk discounts apply automatically. Want a lighter look? See our Pearl Nasatums.
Restrictions: Due to state permitting requirements, we are not allowed to ship these isopods to Florida, Louisiana.
