Our Safe & Ready to Use Leaf Litter is a must-have addition for bioactive enclosures, isopod cultures, terrariums, vivariums, paludariums, reptile habitats, amphibian enclosures, and dart frog setups.

Dry, dead leaves are a main staple of our isopod diet, and many isopods naturally choose to hide beneath the leaves for shelter and security. Reptile and amphibian keepers commonly add leaf litter to their enclosures to create a more naturalistic forest-floor environment while also helping provide cover, enrichment, and humidity retention.

Dart frog enthusiasts especially love using leaf litter on top of the substrate layer so their small colorful frogs have more natural surface area to explore, hide, and hop around on.

We offer many varieties of Safe & Ready to Use Leaf Litter, allowing keepers to customize the appearance and functionality of their enclosure. Due to popular demand, we also created our own custom leaf litter mix called “The Blend” — a combination of all our available leaf varieties. This mixture is intentionally broken down to provide more variety, better coverage, and more usable leaf litter per bag. If you are unsure which variety to choose or simply want the best buffet for your money, we highly recommend selecting The Blend.
