Angry Monk Isopods for Sale (Cubaris sp.)
Legend has it that these dark blackish-blue isopods originated from Thailand and, apparently, the collectors were being tailed by some real-life Angry Monks!
Whether or not you believe the legend, these pods are the real deal: rare, dark and moody-looking, with a name that inspired one of our favorite designs. (Yes, there's Angry Monk merch. Of course there is.)
Origin: Thailand (legend included at no extra charge).
HPI Preferred Habitat Targets: 72–79°F; supporting relative humidity around 75–85%; maintain high air humidity with a dependable moist refuge, deep leaf litter, and moderate ventilation, while avoiding overly wet or waterlogged substrate. This line benefits from stable warmth and humidity but should still have aerated substrate rather than a sealed swamp. Recommended substrate depth 2-3".
Diet: As with most isopod species, their main diet should be lots of leaf litter, decaying wood and a calcium supply. Supplement with organic fresh veggies & protein.
Reproduction: We'll update this as our colony tells us more.
Perfect For: Rare-Cubaris collectors, humid bioactive enclosures, and anyone who can appreciate a good legend.
Ordering: Priced per isopod, with a minimum of 3 per species. Starting a new colony? We recommend 6–20 (see How Many Isopods Should I Get?). Bulk discounts apply automatically.
