These come with a pedigree.
This morph was originally produced by Orin McMonigle, the author of many books on topics including isopods and zoology. In isopod circles, that's basically celebrity breeding. Expect gorgeous patterns of yellow, orange, red and black, and not too many that look the same.
Origin: P. scaber are hard-bodied isopods native to Europe. A very hardy species that produces quickly once established. Colors and patterns vary.
HPI Preferred Habitat Targets: 65–75°F; supporting relative humidity around 50–70%; keep roughly one-third to one-half of the enclosure damp with a moist sphagnum retreat and allow the rest to remain progressively drier. Provide moderate-to-strong ventilation and avoid keeping the full enclosure wet. Recommended substrate depth 2-3".
Recommended use: Bearded Dragon enclosures, Bone Cleaning (skulls), feeders (for larger animals).
Diet: As with most isopod species, their main diet should be lots of leaf litter, decaying wood and a calcium supply. This species will readily cannibalize each other if there is not enough protein in their diet (feed protein 2x per week). Supplement with mushrooms, freeze dried veggies, organic veggie scraps.

Many isopod distributors offer starter cultures of specific counts (5, 6, 8, 10 counts, etc.). We have found that some clients want 1 isopod while others prefer 20+. We have made the decision to sell isopods on a per price basis to assist with your custom-built starter cultures.

- Orders of $99+ are eligible for complimentary shipping.

- As a USDA APHIS Permitted shipping facility, we use our current PPQ-526 permits to ship within the Continental U.S.
- When sending 'Live Animals' we may delay your shipment due to Holiday schedules, weather conditions at your location or ours, or other.
- We provide Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG) Shipping through our strategic shipping partners and policies.
- Review and understand our LAG Policy for safe delivery.
- You are responsible for ensuring their safe indoor delivery promptly or arranging a Hold for Pickup with our Shipping Partner (picking up same day).
