DIY Springtail Master Culture Supplies

Build or maintain your own springtail master culture with Holy-Poly Isopods Calcium Clay supplies.

This listing is for dry, non-live springtail culture supplies. Choose the option you need to start a new master culture, expand an existing setup, or restock supplies.

Choose your option:

• 1 lb (16 oz) Calcium Clay Refill Pouch: Bulk dry proprietary Calcium Clay culture medium packaged in a resealable bronze pouch for building or refreshing multiple springtail cultures.
• 8 oz Master Culture Cup (with Clay Powder): Includes one 8 oz deli cup with lid plus a separate pre-measured 1/4 cup packet of dry Calcium Clay. Empty the packet into the cup, add 2 Tbsp (30 mL) room-temperature dechlorinated water, mix thoroughly, allow the clay to hydrate for 10–15 minutes, then level the clay and seed with your springtail starter culture. Springtails and food are not included.
• 8 oz (Empty) Culture Cup + Lid: One empty 8 oz deli cup and lid for building additional springtail cultures.
• Breathable Vent Tape Roll: Breathable tape for covering a small ventilation pinhole in a culture lid. Approximately 10 yards per roll.

Water note: If your local tap water contains chlorine only, allowing it to sit uncovered for about 24 hours can allow chlorine to dissipate. This does not reliably remove chloramine. If your local water uses chloramine or you are unsure, use plain, unflavored bottled spring water or purified drinking water.

Complete the setup: Springtails are not included with this listing. Add a live springtail starter culture and pair your setup with Holy-Poly Springtail Food for routine feeding.

Important: Each option is sold separately. Selecting an empty cup or vent tape does not include Calcium Clay, food, or live springtails unless specifically stated in that option.
